About KimHaas.com
KimHaas.com is a community for transcriptionists. I started this website as a personal blog but didn’t know what to write about. At first I used it to journal my marketing efforts but then I started adding articles about transcription so I could refer to them later on. As my collection of articles and links grew, so did my experience in helping other women get started in the transcribing industry.
I started adding scripts to make the site more interactive. The whole thing just kind of blossomed like a flower and grew into what it is today. The site is now a community where women can learn about transcribing as well as a place to meet others with like interests. It doesn’t matter if you work from home or simply do occasional dictation in the office - all are welcome here.
Overall, it’s been a great learning experience for me. My own knowledge continues to increase and I am fortunate enough to be able to share that with others in order to help other women get started as transcribers.
I encourage those who have writing ability to submit their own articles. This is a subtle way to establish your credibility as a transcriptonist and offers a short bio opportunity that can build links and traffic back to your website. If you’re not into writing articles, you can still register to participate in the discussion forums. If you’re a fan of our forums and want to become more involved, I welcome the opportunity to have you serve as a moderator on the discussion boards.
There are RSS and Atom feeds for each of our channels and at the bottom of the page in our forums. It’s really a convenient way to keep up with what’s going on in the community while you’re working. Of course we still want you to visit often and interact with other members when your fingers need a break or your audio file is just too boring and you need some encouragement. Look for the orange RSS and blue Atom images. Click on them to view the feed in your browser or save the link to your feed reader.
I welcome your comments and suggestions. Your feedback is important and helps create an intuitive experience for everyone. I look forward to getting to know all of you as this community grows and develops.
