  • What inner qualities contribute to your success as a transcriber? // October 12 2009

For me, my addictive/compulsive nature is the biggest factor. I'm the type that can't put down a project until it's finished. I am always learning new things from the audio files I transcribe, so the varying content helps keep things interesting.

For others, I would say you can't rush things. Many times I see women who are expecting to earn a lot of money really fast. It just doesn't happen that way. Building a transcription business takes time, dedication and perseverance to build a steady client base. It also takes a lot of self-discipline to make sure you meet all your client deadlines and provide quality transcripts.
